The finish of the Kingdom's last tag team match is played on a screen, then it's stopped, rewound and played again.

And again.

And again.

The camera pans away from the screen to show that it's Kurasuke watching the footage with tag team champions Leo Cruz and Marcus Akane standing on either side of him.

{{Kurasuke}}
The corpses that won't stay buried never grow stronger through their efforts. A defiant hand poking out of the grave is just an exposed limb begging to be divorced from its host.

The screen is left paused as the trio exit the skybox.

Kurasuke kneels in a field.

{{Kurasuke}}
For a moment it appeared as if the dirt spread.

He stands and places both hands behind his back.

{{Kurasuke}}
But it was merely a rogue gust of wind.

As MexiTan celebrates their victory, Kurasuke joins the duo of Cruz and Akane in the ring, but only so that he can pull off Akane's jacket before he steps through a portal.

On the other side, Kurasuke steps onto the land where this all began, MexiTan's theme inexplicably still heard playing from somewhere out in the ether.

He has a pole in hand, Akane's jacket tied to the top as though it were a flag, and he plants the pole into the ground. Kurasuke steps back and admires the view, the prideful sight of the jacket billowing in the wind.

The masked man crouches down onto one knee and digs the palm of his gloved hand into the ground before coming back up with a fistful of dirt. As soon as he unclenches that fist, a powerful gust sweeps the dirt away.

Kurasuke stands, both hands now behind his back.

{{Kurasuke}}
As foretold.

He disappears through a portal, and the camera rests on the image of Akane's jacket before fading to black.

It's a beautiful day at the beach.

The sun shines, the waves wash over the sand and the wind is blowing just right to make this a perfect day to be here. The camera pans over the scene giving the viewers at home just a taste of what it's like to be here. Families are building sandcastles, men and women, toned and fit play some volleyball, Leo Cruz rubs sunscreen lotion onto Marcus Akane's back, surfers ride the waves, a couple enjoys a small picnic on the sand.

Off to the side, Kurasuke lies down on a full-body chair, a cup of water with a straw in it in one hand, a poster advertising Tag Team Turmoil in the other hand. His mask, and full body suit are both on as he finds relief in this heat. He silently examines the poster.

{{Kurasuke}}
They slaughter themselves for the prize of a risk of being slaughtered themselves.

He crumbles the poster in his fist and sighs deeply. He lifts the cup of water to his face, but the camera cuts to black before we see how he manages to drink it.

Re: MexiTan || Leyendas in the Making

Lawd, MexiTan have done it!

They've done the impossible!

They've achieved the unthinkable!

My goodness, let's call it the imthinkable!

These two legends, YOUR UnMatched Tag Team Champions, walked into the battlefield against the two best that UnMatched has to offer, as their respective championship imply and beat them.

MexiTan beat Quantum and Rage.

MexiTan made a statement tonight that has resonated and has shaken the status quo of the company down to its very core. It's a statement these fans have heard loud and clear, and now not a single member of the audience is sitting down. All are on their feet, applauding and cheering, waving around MexiTan flags sporting the logo that Gumble hasn't finished yet.

The most passionate fans, the day one-ers, the optimistic souls who dreamed of a moment like this when MexiTan first got together wipe tears away from their eyes while rapping along to the tag team champions' entrance music.

For some this outcome was the shock felt round the world, for the wise, MexiTan were never the underdogs. This is yet another watershed moment in their still burgeoning careers, the moment where they made it even clearer for the detractors, the naysayers and the flat out blind, that they are the ones who run the tag team division. no matter what happens from here on out, MexiTan have taken another step closer to cementing themselves as the greatest and they're only in their first reign as champions.

The enthusiasm of LEO CRUZ and Marcus Akane as they celebrate this, the most prolific of victories, is damn near contagious. The planet Earth itself vibrates as the millions watching this all over the world get up and dance and jump and cheer and clap and celebrate along with their favorite tag team, who haven't failed to excite them yet. Cruz and Akane meet in the middle of the ring and thrill the crowd by doing their secret handshake, a blur of hands and fingers that must have taken them years to perfect.

The referee re-enters the ring and hands them each the one of the tag team championship belts, their crowns, that they have fought tooth and nail to retain, and will do so again as teams gather in a gauntlet to determine who will be the next challengers for what are now the most prestigious titles in all of CMV. Though it's as Kurasuke said, "They slaughter themselves for the chance to be slaughtered, themselves." A tag team will be put through the ring, haven't to defeat one or more teams to emerge victorious on that night, and there's no guarantee they'd win the Tag Team Champions after all that.

Speaking of a portal opens up slightly above the center of the ring, and out steps Kurasuke who inexplicably wasn't at ringside for this match. The masked man steps through it and into the ring and between Akane and Cruz who continue emphatically celebrating and the duo now serve as a humorous contrast to the stoic Friend of Cole Savage. Kurasuke lowers himself onto a knee and from that position he pulls a microphone from only heaven knows where.

{{Kurasuke}}
Syndicates' tears have bled into the milky river which continues to grow tonight after the two more have fallen beneath the undertow.

Confetti rains down from the ceiling, and the celebration continues.

Today, MexiTan are baking in a kitchen.

The duo of LEO CRUZ and Marcus Akane, joined as always by the Friends of Cole Savage representative, Kurasuke, are taking care to ensure that the recipe they’re using is followed right down to the punctuation mark. Kurasuke has on an apron and a chef’s hat; Cruz is taking care of the dishes; Akane is pulling baking tools out of a plastic bag.

A timer dings, and Cruz excitedly rushes over to the oven and opens the door. After pulling on some heat-resistant gloves, Cruz pulls out a tray that contains four freshly-baked cupcakes. The masked man places the pastries on the counter where Akane begins diligently using a frosting pen to write on them.

Meanwhile, Kurasuke has already written on the box these cupcakes are meant to be put into. “Your loss is inevitable, but tragic all the same” A true heartwarming message worthy of a hallmark card. The camera cuts over to Akane who takes a step back to admire his work, wiping away a bead of sweat from his brow before crossing his arms. A single word is expertly written in frosting on each cupcake.

“Chet”

“Aaron”

“Etc.”

“Etc.”

Cruz steps forward, licks a finger and slides it under each word in a crude underline. Kurasuke calmly takes the tray as if that didn’t just happen, places it in the box, then steps through a portal so that he can deliver it.

Re: MexiTan || Leyendas in the Making

Post by Red Chocolate on Tue Jan 23, 2018 9:57 pm

When the hottest theme in all of CMV blasts through the speakers, the crowd can't help but get onto their feet as MexiTan are ready to get the party started. The duo formerly known as the UnMatched tag team champions, look a little naked without the gold around their waists, but they've had time since the pay per view to regroup, collect themselves and get back on track.

The children especially go crazy when Leo Cruz steps onto the stage, the boys and girls showing off their Cruz replica masks as the camera does a quick pan across the building. And now the women have some eye candy as Akane, with a fresh tan adorning his chiseled physique, follows his tag partner onto the stage.

Cruz and Akane are in incredibly high spirits, a positive attitude that's infectious and quickly spreads to the thousands of people in the building and perhaps even through the television screens to those watching from the comfort of their homes. Better yet, it seems they have some gifts for their passionate fan base. Down the ramp comes Akane with a t-shirt cannon, shooting its contents to randomly into the crowd.

Someone close enough to the camera, luckily enough to get a shirt, unfolds it in front of the screen so that people can get a good look at it. It's a Syndacite t-shirt but with MexiTan's face photoshopped onto it. Meanwhile, Cruz is handing out small cards with pictures of MexiTan holding the tag team championships, autographed of course, so that its value is guaranteed to exponentially increase as time goes off.

When they run out of swag to dish out, Cruz and Akane settle for snapping pictures and signing some more autographs, a treat for those lucky enough to be here tonight. It is about a minute or two later when a portal opens up in the middle of the ring, through which Kurasuke steps. He's wearing one of the doctored Syndacite shirts nonchalantly, and while it is an amusing initial sight, Kurasuke's aura creates different vibe as he stands there with a microphone in hand.

{{Kurasuke}}
The past...a looming presence. A monster that grows the longer you lay your eyes on it. Yet the darkness born when those eyes are closed is where doubt and failure breed.

Cruz and Akane join a now kneeling Kurasuke and stand on either side of him. Kurasuke pauses as the crowd breaks out into a "MexiTan" chant.

{{Kurasuke}}
We keep the past at arm's reach. Close enough to feed on its knowledge. Far enough to keep the monster starved. Syndicate forced their way onto our land and claimed our crown as their own to place them on heads unworthy. They will...

He pauses again, but this time it isn't because of the crowd.

All eyes turn toward where the masked man's head is turned. There are two men standing on the stage, cloaked literally in clothing and metaphorically in darkness.

Menacing, imposing silhouettes.

The light brightens on the stage to give a better look, and the illumination of the duo only causes greater confusion. They're masked, every inch of skin covered by clothing. It's Andriod? But there's two of them. One of the hulking figures points at the ring. The second drags his thumb across the base of his neck, the silent message not lost in translation.

Kurasuke rises off a knee onto both feet and takes a couple steps forward until his can grip the top rope.

{{Kurasuke}}
You.

Not a question.

Recognition.

The man who was pointing, pulls back is hand and uses that finger to press against where his lips would be. And he gets his wish as a hush falls over the building.

After several seconds MexiTan look to be fed up with whatever's going here. Cruz and Akane prepare to exit out of two different sides of the ring, but then the men on the stage take a step forward prompting Kurasuke to take a step back, an action that halts Cruz and Akane in their tracks.

The men turn and walk away, just like that, satisfied with whatever they feel was accomplished here. The trio group up in the middle of the ring, watching. Their next actions infinitely more important than they were minutes ago.

Re: MexiTan || Leyendas in the Making

Here in the skybox, Leo Cruz is looking out of the window, observing the scene below.

At least that's the way it all appeared at first, but as we linger on the scene, we're able to pick up on the sound of Akane arguing with Kurasuke.

"I don't know why it's so hard for you to explain what the hell is going on," Akane says. As the camera pans away from Cruz, we now see Kurasuke sitting on the floor, legs crossed, arms in his laps, head chin slightly tucked, an almost meditative posture -- if it weren't for Akane towering over him.

"One second we're planning for our rematch against Syndicate," the next we're being called out and targeted, and you won't tell us who the enemy be."

Akane pauses for a moment, a slight gift of silence that would allow Kurasuke to interject into what's been a one-sided conversation thus far and offer up some tidbit of information. Instead the masked man's chest slowly rises and falls in time with a deep breath.

"See, I like fighting as much as the next guy," Akane says in an even, but audibly tense, voice. "But it helps knowing who or what we're fighting, because something tells me that that wasn't a one and done appearance."

Again he pauses waiting for Kurasuke to answer the unasked, though strongly implied question, and again Kurasuke allows the silence to press on, stifling and it's becoming, leaving the hanging thread of the conversation for Akane to pick back up on his own.

"And when they come back," Akane squats down in front of Kurasuke so that they're eye level, "because I'm left to assume that it's a matter of when, it'll be helpful knowing exactly what we're up against when that battle starts. And if--"

"No."

Kurasuke's sudden interjection catches Akane off guard.

"No?"

Kurasuke suddenly stands up, nearly knocking Akane off balance from his squat. However he doesn't respond prompting Akane to clarify his question.

"No we won't fight back? Hell, I'm pissed enough that I might not even wait for them to throw the first punch, much less--"

"No; this battle is not yours to fight," Kurasuke says as he turns and begins walking off."

Akane begins to follow. "What--"

Before he can continue, Kurasuke opens up a portal and steps through it. The portal closes before Akane can stop him. He turns and looks over and Cruz who is still starting out through the window.

"What about you?" Akane says. "You've been quiet since this all went down. Do you have any clue who those two were?"

Tense seconds go by before Cruz responds.

"Trouble."

Re: MexiTan || Leyendas in the Making

The hottest them in ALL of CMV hits the speakers right here on this action-packed episode of UnMatched.

Wow! We already watched them compete earlier in the night, and they're back for round two? This is one of those moments where you have to look at the price printed on your ticket stub and praise the wrestling gods because you're truly getting a real bang for your buck.

Marcus Akane comes strolling out and he's looking pissed off. Cruz is right behind him, and his body language is showing that he's not in a good mood either. This can't just be about the match earlier, though, wins and losses come with the game, and no matter what, they can sleep at night knowing that they have their rematch for the tag team championships to fall back on.

Akane already has a microphone in hand, he's got something to get off his chest, and isn't gonna wait a second longer to say it.

Now, I don't know about any of you guys, but the fact that I had to sit and hide...hide, let's call it what it is, Kurasuke, isn't something that sits right with me.

What MexiTan should have been doing is beating Syndacite for our tag team champions at UnChained so that we could pick up right where we started in proving that we are the greatest tag team to ever do it.

He lowers the microphone and nods as his words rouse the audience and spark a 'MexiTan' chant.

That ends tonight, because I'm feeling a little naked without those championship around my waist, and I know that Leo Cruz feels the same way. A few weeks ago we were approached by two men who have it out for us. They wanna see that we never wrestle again. Why? The hell if I know, but it's about damn time that we start fighting back.

I don't know your names, but you know I'm talking to you: Any time. Any place. But I would prefer right here, right now. Wherever you're lurking, come step out into the light and fight us.

This ends tonight!

A buzz immediately spreads over the crowd, but it's not because of Akane's stirring speach. As Akane speaks out that last sentence, two hulking figures step through the curtain and stand behind him. They're merely silhouettes, shadows in this bright arena, because Gumble didn't make them, but still menacing all the same.

Cruz turns around and spots the invited guests. Without hesitation, Cruz lunges forward on the attack and the sudden moment jolts Akane into action. They throw punches and kicks, putting everything they have into each strike, buts it's not enough.

It's simply not enough as these behemoths absorb the blows like they're nothing. At most, they take a few steps backward at the behest of the combined momentum of MexiTan, but they don't seem to be registering pain--and it's not just because they're worn down from competing earlier in the show.

Then with a primal scream the silhouettes go on the attack. The impact of their strikes shake the arena, rattling the building to its core. The fans can't look, some have to turn away, the children will be scarred for life if this beatdown goes on any longer. It's sickening. Absolutely sickening that two men could be capable of such bloodshed, of such destruction, and the horror is only intensified by it being MexiTan at the receiving end of all of this.

For a few brief, far too brief moments, Cruz and Akane, try to make a comeback. With every fiber in their being, with everything they have left in their bodies, they try to fight back. God knows they've tried. And just like that, their foes put that dying flame of hope out once and for all. The monstrous duo each land one last, merciless strike that knocks MexiTan down and keeps them there once and for all.

There they stand, victorious. They stand triumphant after winning a battle in a war that frankly won't last too much longer if every fight is this one sided. The crowd is dead silent. It's too hard to make sense of what they just witnessed. This is MexiTan, the most beloved team on the roster, put down just like that.

Why?

WHY?

The heartbreaking questions always seem to be the one with no answer, much less a satisfying one. But this was a senseless attack, one with no provocation and no justification.

They turn and walk away, confident with the knowledge, the hope even, that this won't be the last of their fun with Cruz and Akane. As soon as they're out of the frame, there's a flash of light as a portal opens up at the side of the stage. Kurasuke steps through and walks over to where his fallen comrades lie. He kneels down and puts a hand on Akane's chest and the other on Cruz' back.

{{Kurasuke}}
Has understanding permeated your ignorance? A repetition will not be allowed.

He maneuvers their bodies so that he has each over their shoulders and walks them through the portal.
